Companionship for your pets, day and night.

Many overnight pet sitting services are exactly that: overnight. The sitter arrives in the evening and leaves in the morning, and may stop by during the day.

I spend most of my time home with your pets. That doesn’t mean I never leave, but I’m rarely gone for more than a few hours.

I have a valid Washington business license. The state of Washington doesn’t have a professional license for pet sitters the way it does for some other professions.

I am insured and bonded by Business Insurers of the Carolinas. A copy of my insurance certificate is available upon request.

Absolutely! I strongly prefer to do an in-person meet-and-greet before booking to make sure we’re a good fit. In some cases we may be able to do this by video instead, or as a first step before I visit you at home.

I accept payment by cash, check, bank transfer, or credit card.

I require a 50% deposit to hold a spot on my schedule, with the balance due within 2 days after the end of the sit. If you have a payment method on file with me, I will run the balance payment automatically unless you ask me to disable automatic charging for your account.

I gratefully accept tips if you are pleased with my services. If you’d like to include a tip on any payment, you may add one via the app or web portal.

Cancellation fees may apply, depending on date of cancellation:
More than 14 days before start of service: No cancellation fee (your full deposit will be refunded)
8-14 days before start of service: 25% cancellation fee (half of your deposit will be refunded)
3-7 days before start of service: 50% cancellation fee (no refund of deposit)
Less than 3 days before start of service: 100% cancellation fee (you will be charged in full for the sit)

I mostly care for dogs and cats. I have cared professionally for rodents, reptiles, and fish, and I’m open to caring for any type of animal that’s legal to have as a pet or farm animal as long as I feel like I can safely meet needs of the animal(s).

I don’t have any arbitrary breed or weight restrictions, and I have beloved clients who are large dogs and those from breeds that are sometimes considered challenging. My priority is always safety: for the animals I care for, for myself, and for any other humans or animals we may encounter. The meet-and-greet is an important opportunity for the animal(s) and I to get to know each other and assess if we’re a good fit. I may want to include a practice walk depending a dog’s size and temperament.

I’m experienced and comfortable administering oral, topical, and subcutaneous (injected under the skin) medications, and I can usually do this as part of my services. Every animal has a different temperament, and the meet-and-greet is a great time to make sure that your animal(s) and I will be successful with any needed medications.

I really will be there with your pets most of the time! I’m not going to leave each morning for an in-office job, nor to do a day filled with visiting other pets.

That said, I do this full-time, so the rest of the stuff of life still needs to happen. On a typical sit, I will spend some time away from your house to run errands, see family and friends, do meet-and-greets with other potential clients, etc. I will do this in a way that aligns with the needs and schedule of your pet(s).

I start from a default assumption that for sits that include dogs I could be away for up to 4-6 hours at a time, and for cat-only sits that I could be away for up to 8-10 hours on a stretch. The vast majority of my times away are 2 hours or less.

If any of your pets have medical or behavioral needs that mean that the defaults above wouldn’t work, please let me know so we can discuss your household’s needs. I can often accommodate schedules with additional restrictions, but additional charges for high support needs may apply.

Please provide food for your pets, but you’re not responsible for providing my food. I bring my own!

I appreciate it if you leave some space for me in your fridge and freezer, and please let me know if it’s alright if I use small quantities of things like seasonings and condiments.

Some clients suggest that I use up things that might spoil while they’re gone. On occasion someone tells me to help myself. In cases like these, I might eat some things from your kitchen but you won’t come home to an empty pantry!
